Executive Director
Aejaie Sellers
The DeFrank Center is proud to have Aejaie
Sellers as its executive director. Ms. Sellers draws
upon 12 years of experience in key areas such as strategic
planning, financial management, program development and implementation,
fundraising and grant writing, and non-profit governance.
Previously, Ms. Sellers founded and served as the executive
director for Transitional Services for Youth & Families in
Burlington, Vermont. During her six year tenure, Ms. Sellers
expanded the organization from a start-up to an organization
with a $600k budget, secured $1.5 million in both public and
private funding, and expanded the reach of the organization
by partnering with various local, regional, and state level
agencies.
Most recently, Ms. Sellers served as the executive
director for Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Monterey,
California. During her three years at CASA, Ms. Sellers increased
the agency’s capacity by doubling the number of child advocates
and expanding the annual budget from $150k to $500k. She also
secured new private, state, and federal grants totaling over
$1 million. Under her watch, CASA received the 2004 and 2005
Monterey Bay Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award
for Outstanding Non-Profit. She personally received the 2005
Child Abuse Preventions Council Award for Outstanding Professionalism,
Leadership, and Commitment.
Ms. Sellers received her associate’s degree
in Business Management and her bachelor’s degree in Psychology
from Post College in Waterbury, Connecticut.
