Arts and Media Coordinator Intern
Purpose:
Under the direction of the DeFrank Center
Program staff create publications, brochures, posters, newsletters
and other marketing/PR items.
Major Responsibilities:
- Create marketing/PR items on fast turn-around time periods
- Produce flyers highlighting DeFrank Center events
- Produce program brochures on an ongoing basis
- Work with staff to identify publication needs
- Direct the design and production of the DeFrank Quarterly Newsletter
- Produce signs for DeFrank Center Events
- Help produce flyers for DeFrank Groups, Social Committee, Program Events and Workshops
- Design banners for Special Events
Reporting Relationship:
This position reports to the Director of Resource Development.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Graphic design experience
- MS Publisher experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Printing experience
- Excellent communication skills, including writing and telephone usage
- Self motivated, ability to work independently
- Knowledge of Quark, InDesign, and Flash would be a plus
- Must be able to meet deadlines!
- Great organizational skills
- Creative (out-of-box thinking)
- Marketing/Tech Writing a plus
Time Commitment/Hours:
Three - 2hr shifts per week or more. This
will allow an intern/volunteer to stay
up-to-date with us, our needs, and to use
our equipment (which is minimal).
Intern/volunteer can also spend time
outside of office hours. Position will be
a minimum of 6 months. Some work can be
done at home.

structured to provide students with a high
amount of responsibility and challenging
work. Although staff will provide guidance
and supervision, interns will be able to
contribute to the direction of the program
area they work on. DeFrank Center
internships are structured to be mutually
beneficial to both the student and the
organization. Interns will be accountable
to their work plan and their
responsibilities. Interns will take part
in consensus decision-making processes and
help shape group goals.
