Volunteer Speakers Group
The Billy DeFrank Speakers
Group was formed to supply a panel of
three to five trained speakers for high
school, college, and workplace groups, or
others that are interested in learning
more about the diverse Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, and Transgender Community. It is
designed to supply panels of persons of
different ages and sexual orientations as
requested. The format is to have each
panel member share a brief bio about
their background with emphasis on their
sexual history, family life, career
profile, hobbies, general interests and
attitudes about lifestyle and politics.
This is followed by a question and answer
period designed to meet the specific needs
of the requester and the group.
The panel members will be
introduced using only their first names
and will not be recruiting new presenters.
They are only speaking from their own
personal experience and what they say will
reflect their own opinions. Our goal is to
establish better communication,
understanding and tolerance in an effort
to break down stereotypes about LGBT
people in our community.
