Volunteer Position: Women's Dinner Committee / Men's Dinner Committee

Description

Those of you with experience in coordinating social activities for groups, enjoy eating out and trying new restaurants, AND like getting people involved, this committee is for you!

The primary purpose of this group is to gather people in the community to host monthly dinners OUT in LGBT friendly environments.

Working with Adult Services, volunteers on the committee are encouraged to participate in the planning and hosting dinners, recruitment of additional volunteers, as well as provide feedback on future venues.

We would like a committee that reflects the range of interests, ages, races, genders, geography and orientations in our community.

Experience

Experience in coordinating social activities for groups, planning events, and getting people involved. Entry-level experience ok with the desire to learn and help build community. Experience working with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people preferred.

Commitment

We pleasantly request a 6-month minimum commitment.

Skills Required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Friendly, extroverted, and able to host organize events. Pluses for this committee would include strong computer skills, writing/editing, marketing, graphic and experience. Reliable and able to meet deadlines. Internet access and email required.

How to Apply

This committee is limited in membership, and requires an application process and a probation period to participate.

If you are interested, please contact the Director of Adult Programs at AdultProg@defrank.org or 408-293-3040 ext. 116 to learn more.
