Description

The primary purpose of this position is to market social events and activities for our whole LGBT Community. Programming could include health workshops, dance classes, support groups and more hosted by volunteers or DeFrank staff.

Volunteers are requested to advertise events in their community circles, and encouraged to find new ways to advertise. This could be designing and posting provided flyers in libraries, college campuses, LGBT friendly bars, online communities, and other places to let the community know about our services.

Experience

Must be an enthusiastic person to work independently and professionally. Experience in getting people involved preferred, but not necessary. Marketing background would be a plus. Can be entry-level with the desire to learn and help build community.

Hour Commitment

Minimum of 2 hours per week — volunteer as much as you like.

Skills Required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Pluses for this position would include strong computer skills, writing/editing, marketing, and graphic experience. Reliable and able to meet deadlines. Internet access and email required.
