Description

Develop and oversee volunteers/facilitators of DeFrank Center programming, workshops and projects.

Major Responsibilities:

• Facilitate volunteer evaluations and trainings.
• Assist Program Coordinators in workshop and training development.
• Recruit new volunteers through volunteer fairs, community events, and local contacts.
• Create a monthly orientation session for volunteers.
• Place volunteers as facilitators and organize programs.
• Facilitate the smooth operation of all volunteer related projects.
• Organize semi-annual volunteer appreciation events.
• Organize and record volunteer information in database.
• Provide support and outreach to volunteers and facilitators

Type of Commitment

6-months to 1-year minimum, no maximum 

Hour Commitment

Requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week, at least two days of office hours. Position will be a minimum of 6 months with a stipend and have potential to grow into a paid position. Some work can be done at home.

Skills Required

Reliable! Demonstrated history of leadership and commitment to mentoring, advising individuals/groups, and community involvement with LGBT or other communities. Excellent communication skills, including writing and telephone usage. Self motivated, ability to work independently. Basic computer knowledge, including email, Internet, and word processing. Great organizational skills. Ability to provide support services and educational programming. Commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
